Can I have my site linked in more categories than one?
Can you link to individual games on my site as well, or instead of the front page?
Can I use your web site to harvest links for my own?

Why was [a web site] removed?
The most common reason is that the website has closed down. When I notice that a popular website has gone offline I will remove the link but leave "breadcrumbs", an explanation that the website is no longer online. Sometimes webmaster ask me to remove their sites because of the traffic that goes through Dress Up Games. Occasionally I will remove site that are outdated technically or do no longer adhere to the rules.

Why are some links labeled and what do they mean?
= the very best of the best!
= websites that require registration.
= recommended websites.
= only works in Internet Explorer.
Java Applet - a plug-in to view interactive content, can be downloaded from Sun Microsystems. I'm slowly weeding out games using java applets, they tend to be old, slow and outdated.
PG - Parental guidance suggested. Some material may not be suitable for younger children.
PG-13 - Parents strongly cautioned. Material for teenagers and may be inappropriate for children under 13.

Why didn't you post the link I sent to you?
Most likely it is already listed somewhere on my site, every day I get lots of suggestions about web sites that are in there somewhere! Other reason might be that you forgot to send me the URL, I didn't find it because your description was so vague (hey, check out the cool game on Disney!) or the web site does not adhere to the rules and guidelines for accepting links to Dress Up Games.
I appreciate that people want to help but you probably won't find new games by searching for "dress up games" on Google!

Add more games and update more often!
I usually update every weekday, at least a few times a week. Also, people send me links to all sort of sites with no dress-up games. So I may have been busy working on my site, checking out links and looking for games with no results and no actual updates. I'm not slacking, honest!

I have a great idea for a game - can you make it?
I love hearing new ideas so by all means keep them coming! I can't promise anything but if I like your idea I'll do my best to make it happen.

Please remove [a link] from your site. I find it offensive.
I have no interest in offending anyone and try my best not to do so! However, opinions vary and web contents change so I will certainly take a second look and remove the link or label it appropriately (about labels).

Why isn't my name on the "Thanks for submitting" list?
You probably forgot to give me your name or I might simply have forgotten. Please send me a message here and give me your name.

Do you have rules of admission?
Yes, general rules are available here.

Why was my web site removed
Probably because it was closed during a routine dead-link check. If you're in the habit of closing your whole site when you work on it, it's really isn't suited for Dress-up games listing. If you think I've removed your listing by mistake (and it does happen), please contact me.

Can I have my site removed from Dress-up games (small bandwidth and/or personal content)?
Absolutely, I will remove your site at once, no questions asked, no explaining necessary.

Can I have my site listed in more categories than one?
Not the whole site but individual games go in appropriate categories.

Can you link to individual games on my site as well, or instead of the front page?
In most cases, yes. If your site has many small or similar games then I usually prefer just to link to the front page. If you have a large website that is updated often with new games I can't possibly link to all of your games, what I like to do instead (with your permission) is choose a few games and link to them, as well as the front page.

Can I use a game hosted on www.puterdolls.com on my own web site?
The ones you can take without asking have a "creative commons" license at the bottom of the page. For the other games, please contact me and we'll talk!

About Dress-up Games
Dress Up Games is a directory of dress-up games, makeover games, on-line paper dolls and other web sites where you can dress-up, build or make persons or animals and decorate rooms and houses. The site was born as The Dress Up Games Page in March 15th 1998, using a free GeoCities account. Moved to the current domain in 2000 and has been regularly updated ever since.
In July 2006 Dress Up Games had a big makeover which included new colors, new graphics, and was converted to a table less XHTML and CSS layout. I am very happy with the results!
